Reporting Statistics: each year we collect statistics related to various aspects of parish life, some are for diocesan use, some we are required to collect by the General Synod. The diocesan Executive Officers along with the General Secretary of General Synod have requested that parishes continue to collect information during this extraordinary time. This information will serve two purposes- it will be a record of how the Anglican Church of Canada responded to the Covid 19 Pandemic and it will meet our continued reporting obligation.

We are developing a form that we ask parishes to complete on a monthly basis as long as we are restricted from gathering. General Synod is looking for information on “attendance” for worship (via electronic means) and the types and numbers of ways contact with parishioners has been maintained. We are also interested in the new ways that Christian formation for adults or young people might be happening.

Details will be on the form.

In the meantime, for those who are offering on-line worship this weekend, we ask that you keep a count of the number of people who ‘check in’ or view your worship services. We are aware of the inaccuracies in such counts, however Easter is one of the four Sundays per year that we must report attendance to General Synod. It will be up to General Synod staff to interpret the data.

Thank you

The Most Rev. Ron Cutler
